Happy mother's day 2009!

SEND A PERSONAL NOTE TO YOUR MOM

Dear Canadian Druze Society of Ontario – Ottawa-Carleton Chapter Members

A mother is the source of all good in this world. She is that gentle soul that gives life, and everything that comes along with making that life whole, without ever asking for anything in return. She is the dependable source of comfort that has always shown us the way with her love, affection and perseverance.

In a small act of appreciation, that will in no way measure up to the many sacrifices that a mother makes every single day, however that is meant to show each one of them how much we truly care, respect, and value them, we would like to invite every Druze mother to our upcoming celebration of Mother's Day!

We invite all Druze mothers for a brunch at Le Buffet des Continents where they can celebrate this wonderful day together. Note that this invitation is intended for the mothers only; fathers don't worry, we are of course planning something for your own day in June! The rest of the family members can participate by sending their mothers personalized messages that will be discreetly given to the mothers on their special day. For that, we invite all children to send in a personal note to their mothers at this page.

Here are the details of the event:
Admission: FREE
Location: Restaurant: Le Buffet des Continents
Address: 4 Gare Talon, Gatineau
Date: Saturday, May 9th, 2009
Time:  at 11:00 am

To help make this event successful, please call to confirm your attendance by Monday May 4th @ 613 792 1 297 or by email to imerhi8613@rogers.com

one-month remembrance

Dear Canadian Druze Society of Ontario – Ottawa-Carleton Chapter Members

We are writing to you all with grieved hearts, as twenty two of our brave and selfless men gave up their souls as honoured martyrs for the sake of their land and dignity. These martyrs left us for heavenly abode during the past events that occurred in Lebanon. For us, as families and brethren of the lost men, these moments are one of the saddest and most calling of all.

To offer prayer for the souls to rest in peace, to condole withint ourselves, and to collect donations fro the families and orphans of these great martyrs, a One-month remembrance gathering has been organized at the Sandy Hill Community Centre - Games Room on the 8th of June 2008, between 2:00pm and 4:00 pm. The meeting will be accompanied by the generous presence of Mr. Ayman El-Souki, who will be giving a lecture on the Mowahideen history.

In times like these, our unity should be one that is unbreakable and, for that, your presence is beseeched.

Sincerely Yours,

CDSO-OCC Executive Committee
