SERVICES & SERMONS
The Canadian Druze Society of Ontario – Ottawa Chapter is proud to serve our members through programs and initiatives that reflect our traditions, strengthen community bonds, and support individuals and families across all stages of life. Our services fall into four key areas: Social, Culture, Education, and Emergency Support.
Social
We believe in the power of gathering and celebrating life together. Every year, we host events such as Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, our End-of-Summer Gathering, End-of-Year Party, and Halloween Celebration. These occasions bring together children, youth, families, and seniors to share joy and preserve our sense of togetherness. By maintaining these traditions, we create opportunities for all generations to connect, strengthen friendships, and welcome new members into our community.
Culture
Our chapter is deeply committed to preserving and promoting Druze cultural heritage. We celebrate important occasions such as Eid al-Adha and regularly host religious learning sessions that nurture spiritual reflection and collective understanding. We also highlight Druze history, traditions, music, and cuisine at community gatherings, ensuring that our children and youth grow up proud of their roots while building bridges with the multicultural fabric of Canadian society.
Education
We see education as a cornerstone of growth and empowerment. Each year, we proudly organize the Post-Secondary 101 Information Session, helping high school graduates transition into university, college, trades, or the workforce. In addition, we host informational sessions led by community experts on vital topics such as accounting, finance, insurance, and mortgages. Through mentorship and shared knowledge, we equip our youth and families with the tools they need to succeed while staying connected to their Druze identity.
Emergency Support
We are a community that stands by one another, especially in times of need. The CDSO Ottawa Chapter provides newcomer support to help families settle into their new environment, as well as immediate assistance for our elders who may require extra care. We also take pride in offering comprehensive support for funerals and cemetery arrangements, ensuring that families are guided and comforted with compassion during difficult times.
